27th January 2013 Skiing: Sixt. Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny then cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: Woke in our lovely Samoens appartment to sunshine and 13 hot air balloons making the most of the light airs :) Mag and I walked to the square with Maggie and David Coles to buy cakes for breakfast at Tiffany's !!! We are also here with the Coles daughters Jenna and Abbie and her boyfriend Tom who has never skied before so we thought the best option was to go to the small resort of Sixt a few miles up the road and we haven't skied here before either. Sixt is a really nice old little town surrounded by high mountains with half a doz. lifts and 38 k of skiing :) Mag helped Tom for an hour or so master the basic snow plough turns then Abbie and Mag C took over as Tom progressed to harder slopes - he did very well and we are hoping to get him on a chair lift tomorrow at Morillion - mcould be good as it's raining here in Samoens so we are hoping for fresh snow up the mountain !!!!! Poor David was feeling a bit under the weather :( but he took us to the top of Sixt on 2 old slow chairlifts with my Maggie and Jenna. We had a really good couple of top to bottom runs on really good steep reds :) We had a quick bite to eat before doing it once more making the most of the nice snow even if by this time the sun had disappeared :( With aching limbs we headed back to the appartment for tea and cake - a doze in a hot bath followed by pizza and a 2 hour game of our favourite Phase 10 which David won again !!!
